Robert Hodges is not a politician and has no connection to St. Tammany politics. He is a professional law enforcement officer whose only history is making communities safer.

Robert Hodges will restore the public trust by launching a fully transparent online checkbook for the Sheriff’s Office that gives every taxpayer visibility of every penny spent.

St. Tammany women deserve better

When a woman in St. Tammany reports a sexual assault, she deserves to know her case is handled by trained law enforcement professionals. Hodges will establish the first-ever dedicated Forensic Exam Program within the Sheriff’s Office, staffed by trusted law enforcement personnel, to deliver faster, more reliable results for survivors.

Fighting cybercrime and exploitation of children

As head of the State Police, Hodges worked with local District Attorneys to fight cybercrime and sexual exploitation. As Sheriff, he’ll create a dedicated cybercrime unit, train more deputies to investigate online abuse, and partner with parents and schools to stop predators before they strike.

Fighting crime on Day One

As head of the State Police, Hodges worked side by side with sheriffs, police departments, state officials, and federal agencies across Louisiana. Those relationships mean he can hit the ground running to stop crime that crosses parish lines and keep criminals out of St. Tammany.

It’s where my wife Janine and I raised our two daughters. And as a father, I want St. Tammany to be a safe place where our children want to come back to raise families of their own.

Every day, more than 700 deputies in St. Tammany Parish go to work to serve and protect the people of this great parish. Those men and women deserve to wear a badge free of tarnish from politicians elected to lead them.

I’m not a politician, and I have no ties to St. Tammany politics. As your Sheriff, I will return trust and competence to the Sheriff’s Office and keep St. Tammany one of the safest places to live in Louisiana.

Hodges' Accomplishments

  • 31 years with the Louisiana State Police, serving at every level, from street patrol and investigations to Superintendent, the top law enforcement officer in the state.
  • Managed 2,800 employees, 1,000 commissioned troopers, and a $650 million budget.
  • Stood up Troop NOLA, a State Police base of operations in New Orleans that resulted in a dramatic reduction in violent crime and a marked increase in arrests and convictions.
  • Partnered with local District Attorneys to fight cybercrime and sexual exploitation, protecting women and children from online predators.

Meet Robert Hodges

Before moving to St. Tammany nearly a quarter-century ago, Robert Hodges graduated from LSU with a degree in Criminal Justice. Following graduation, Hodges served as an Intelligence Officer in the Louisiana Army National Guard.

In 1995, Hodges began a 31-year career with the Louisiana State Police, serving at every level of law enforcement. He steadily worked his way up the ranks, earning promotions from street patrol and investigations, until he was appointed by Gov. Jeff Landry as Superintendent, holding the rank of Colonel as the top law enforcement officer in the state.

Hodges and his wife, Janine, were married in 1998. Soon after, they established themselves in St. Tammany Parish, where they raised two daughters. The family chose St. Tammany specifically for safety, strong schools, and strong churches. Both daughters attended Mary Queen of Peace School in Mandeville and later St. Scholastica Academy (SSA) in Covington.

As a father of two daughters, Robert Hodges is running for Sheriff because he wants St. Tammany to be a safe place where our children want to come back to raise families of their own.
